Client worked for the Post Office. Conviction would result in job loss and jail time (required by law on DWI2). TPL asserted Client’s right to Speedy Trial early in case and requested specific employment evidence about prosecution witnesses. TPL investigation revealed prosecutors withheld evidence. At trial, TPL argued for dismissal due to ethical, legal, and constitutional violations by prosecutors. Judge agreed. Case dismissed.
Client just started nursing school and was concerned about professional consequences. Evidence was favorable for the prosecution, and not good for Client. This was Client’s first criminal charge in her life, and even though the evidence tended to show guilt, TPL worked to highlight the unique, outstanding personal attributes of client, eventually negotiating a dismissal. Client has now expunged and deleted the charge from her record.
Client was denied a security clearance due to two criminal charges, both over 10 years old, appearing on a work background check. Other lawyers told Client the records were not eligible for expungement under Texas law. TPL’s research determined there was a legal basis for expunction. After presentation, the District Attorney agreed, and expunction was granted, successfully deleting Client's record.
Client was pulled over for a traffic violation. Forensic evidence showed a BAC twice the legal limit. Facing 1 year in jail and driver’s license suspension, Client had no criminal history and was sole provider and caretaker of three children. TPL reviewed police videos and successfully argued a Motion to Suppress evidence to the judge showing no provable traffic violation. Motion granted. Case dismissed.
